Correcting Grammar Mistakes

　　1. The bus was too packed, I can't get on the bus.

　　2. They compliment her on her culinary skill of Thai cuisine.

　　3. He don't eat fish because of the fishy smell.

　　4. She likes to buck about her capability of work in the office to her friends.

　　5. Do you plan to go on a holiday this year?

　　6. Peter told me that you have been to Turkey since few years ago. How are your holidays over there?

　　7. Don't mope over the past.

　　8. My legs are wobbling now.

　　9. You have a bias between the 2 sons.

　　10. I decline his invitation on the pretext of illness.

　　Among the ten sentences, (7)and (8) are fine.

　　The rest need correcting or improving.

　　(1) The bus was too packed; I could not get on it.

　　Better:

　　(1) a. As the bus was too packed, I could not get on it.

　　(1) b. The bus was too packed for me to get on it.

　　(1) c. The bus was so packed that I could not get on it.

　　(2) They complimented her on her culinary skill of Thai cuisine.

　　(3) He doesn't eat fish because of the fishy smell.

　　(4) She likes to boast about/of her capability of work in the office.

　　Better:

　　She likes to boast of her capability of doing office work.

　　(5) Do you plan to go on /for your holidays this year?

　　(6) Peter has told me that you have been to Turkey for a few years. / Peter told me that you had been to Turkey a few years ago. How are your holidays over there?

　　(9) You have a bias towards the two sons.

　　(10) I declined his invitation on the pretext of illness.
